THIS CLASS IS AIMED AT individuals who are absolutely unfamiliar with firearms, who may have more than a healthy fear of firearms, and who would like to overcome these deficits. Parents desiring a more formal setting for the introduction of children to the world of firearms will appreciate this class. Upon request the class will attend to Basic Pistol or Rifle Familiarity. Red Dawn Range has firearms on hand for students.
OVERVIEW:
Basic Pistol/Rifle Instruction is designed to provide a hands-on introduction to the safe handling and proper orientation of handguns and/or rifles. This course is at least 3 hours long and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot a handgun and/or rifle. Students will learn the NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; firearms parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals and cleaning the pistol/rifle. This is an excellent class for someone that has zero knowledge of firearms or is a new shooter wanting to start off correctly!
PAYMENT:
Enrollment may be made on the web site or directly with payment of $125.00, generally in the form of a check, made out to E.T. Gwynn and mailed to PO Box 3956, Durango, CO 81302. Should you subsequently decide to forgo this class, we will gladly refund 20% of the fee. That said, we fully understand the exigencies of daily living and will bend over backwards to accomodate your changing schedule. Ammunition used will be priced according to the invoice accompanying the purchase of same, including shipping.
GENERAL SCHEDULING/CLASS REQUIREMENTS:
You are encouraged to bring any caliber handgun with which you would like more familiarity. We can help with that. Bring the instruction manual with your firearm, if possible. It would have been with the firearm in the case or perhaps you can find it online.
Note taking materials will be provided.
WHAT WILL BE YOURS:
You will gain an appreciation for safety and safe gun handling, the parts of and the functioning of the firearm, and a respectful familiarity with firearms in general. Your quality of life will be improved simply due to the class.
